Glass Bottom Boat

We had tickets for a morning excursion to Flower Pot Island on a glass bottom boat with stop offs to see some ship wrecks.  I had imagined a boat with the entire floor made of glass with a panaramic view of the lake bottom.

It was a hot sunny day and the line was in the full Sun.  We were first in line, and me and Silvina alternated standing in line and resting in the shade.  The boat had seats on the roof and seats on the main deck.  When we were allowed on, we headed to the shade of the deck seats.  There we found two metal columns protruding from the deck, each about the size of a large kitchen sink.  These were the extent of the glass bottom.

We pulled out of the harbor, and the shipwrecks were quite close.  One was of a schooner, and the other was of a steamship.  The shipwrecks were not too deep and you could see them from over the edge of the boat just as well as through the glass panels.  Still, Nina was fascinated with the bubbles that formed around the glass as the ship was moving.

We then headed towards Flower Pot Island.
